See you all in the New Year!
So well done that it had me wondering if this was real or fiction? Very interesting.
Not too keen on the narrative shift mid-way, but enjoyed the completly different world and new society that it created.
Compelling writing. Mixes current events with an imagined future.
A fantastic but sad read.
Really liked the combination of magic and mythology. A beautifully written tale of liberation.
The story does not quite go anywhere but after a while, you get used to it. The only book I finished this year and am inspired to read more Indigenous fiction.
The best out of a trio of war novels featuring a female protagonist that I read this year. Hooked me early and I had to keep reading. So satisfying!
Deeply moving intergeneration saga set in Winnipeg’s north end. I was pulled in from the first page. Well developed and well-written shifting narratives.
